The Society is an advocate of continued professional development. This is demonstrated through the staging of scientific meetings that address topics at the cutting-edge of microscopy. RMS membership of the society entitles you to a substantial discount on course fees*.

Annual 5 day courses include:

Summer School in Light Microscopy - including modules in Confocal Microscopy, Fluorescence Microscopy, Principles of Light Microscopy and Advanced Light Microscopy

Electron Microscopy Course - consisting of Principles of Electron Microscopy and Specialised EM

Flow Cytometry Course - consisting of Basics of Flow Cytometry, Clinical Applications and Applications in Cell Biology

Cell Imaging Techniques Course - covering topics such as immuno-labelling for light microscopy, confocal microscopy, imaging live cells using GFP and techniques for immuno-labelling at the electron microscope level.

The Society also administers two qualifications. The Diploma RMS is an interesting alternative to other post-graduate qualifications and the Tech RMS is ideal for lab-based technicians who wish to develop their skills.
