Event Description

Registration for the course will open soon.

Course Organiser: Rik Brydson, University of Leeds

This popular School is being held at the University of Leeds. The speakers and demonstrators all have extensive experience of teaching electron microscopy and they are drawn from the RMS membership and from the Leeds departments.

The RMS school consists of a number of parallel sessions, covering most aspects of electron microscopy in both the physical and life sciences. Core lectures introduce the design and operation of the electron microscope, and the principles of the interaction between the fast electron and matter. The core lectures are followed by a parallel series which explore the techniques employed in physical and life sciences. Lectures are supplemented with demonstrations and hands-on practical sessions.

The accommodation for this course is for 5 nights (arriving 21st June, departing 26th June) in en-suite rooms at Devonshire Hall of Residence at the University of Leeds. A course dinner and drinks reception will take place on the Thursday night after the annual EM lecture.

The programme shown is from 2008 but gives an indication of the course content.
