Levels of Membership & Rates
Membership of the Society offers great value. There are 2 levels of membership for individuals & concessions available on both for those not in employment. For companies, there is Corporate Membership. All come with a host of attractive benefits.
Members - individual or corporate - can opt to subscribe to the excellent Journal of Microscopy at a heavily discounted rate.
Since 2007, new Members are required to maintain Ordinary Membership for a continuous period of three years before being invited to become a Fellow of the RMS. Invitations are subject to members meeting one or more of the qualifying criteria listed below. This list of activities is not exhaustive and we will add additional activities as they are approved by our Executive Council. If you have any suggestions for activities you feel may be appropriate, please contact the membership team. This restriction applies to current members who allow their membership to lapse.

Fellowship of the RMSFellows can display the post-nominals FRMS after their names, vote at RMS meetings & be elected to the Society's Sections & Council.
Concessionary MembershipFellows and Ordinary Members who are not in paid employment, e.g. retired or studying, qualify for a concession on their membership.
Corporate MembershipFor companies & organisations who want to enjoy the attached benefits & provide their employees with some of the benefits of individual membership.
Offers for StudentsIf you are an under- or post-grad studying a subject that includes microscopy and imaging, the Society has an offer for you and your fellow students.
