Event Description

Scientific Organiser: Derek Davies

This one day course will introduce the basic concepts of using flow cytometry to analyse DNA content in mammalian cells. Starting with the basics of a DNA histogram, there will be lectures on cell cycle kinetics using the bromodeoxyuridine technique, cell proliferation using Hoechst or CFSE, analysis of cell death by apoptosis and combining surface or intracellular staining with DNA content measurement. This course assumes some knowledge of flow cytometry but is of interest to those who wish to expand their expertise or who are embarking on cytometric studies of DNA.

The course will be delivered by Michael Ormerod (Scientific Consultant, Reigate, Surrey) and Derek Davies (Head of the Flow Cytometry Facility at the London Research Institute, Cancer Research UK).

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS COURSE IS LIMITED TO 35 PARTICIPANTS SO EARLY BOOKING IS VITAL TO SECURE A PLACE.
