This is part of an initiative to promote the use of microscopes in Primary Schools - "AMFES - A Microscope for Every School". The intention is to provide refunds of £20 towards the purchase of RMS approved microscopes for use in Primary Schools throughout the country.
It is hoped that these microscopes will be used not just for use in science lessons but also as a general tool of observation. Schools already using microscopes partially funded by the Society have used them for a wide range of projects ranging from Natural Sciences- to Art-based work.

A number of the Society's members (namely Peter Evennett, and Chris Hammond) work extremely hard accumulating funds for AMFES and promoting the awareness of available refunds to Primary School teachers.
We would encourage Primary Schools to make use of the funds available to them.
Refunds are limited to two per school and the initiative is open to Primary Schools only.
