The powerful FluidFM® ADD-ON from Cytosurge greatly extends the application scope of classical atomic force microscopes beyond imaging and force spectroscopy. Each type of patented hollow FluidFM probe unlocks a wealth of new applications; from single cell adhesion via injection, through to single cell and colloidal studies, to nanoprinting, and beyond. Sense interaction forces down to pN and dispense or aspirate femtoliter volumes – enabled by FluidFM probes with apertures down to 300 nm.

In a few seconds, a 50 µm silica bead is targeted and immobilized with a FluidFM micropipette having 8 µm aperture size. Upon suction application, the bead is removed from the substrate and is ready to be used.
In this video four cells are injected with propidium iodide, which stains the DNA fluorescently. It is common that any payload e.g. CRISPR is co-injected with a fluorescent tracer to have a live feedback on both the injection success and the injected volume. - Video courtesy of Bruker
