The CIV CL3 Cell Sorting Facility is located at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Campus of Imperial College London. The setup of the CIV cell sorting facility provides a great opportunity for researchers to sort live cells infected with Hazard Group 3 pathogens with high purity for further study, including genetic/genomic analysis, proteomics or subsequent in vitro cell culture and cell function analysis. We are currently approved for conducting research on HIV,HTLV,HBV and HCV.
The Institute of Cancer Research Flow Cytometry currently offers: cell sorting, cell analysis, flow cytometry data analysis (various flow cytometry software platforms), advice for the design of flow cytometry experiments (use of controls, fluorochrome combinations etc), advice for hardware setup (compensation, gain settings etc), help with publications and training.
We are a team of expert scientists providing high-quality cell analysis and sorting services for the research groups at the Crick. We work together with the research groups at the Crick to develop and test new experiments and methods that will help them to answer important scientific questions, as well as helping out with interpreting and presenting cell analysis and sorting data in the most effective way.
The facility has five cell analysers: LSRII, CyAn, FACSymphony A5 fitted with 5 lasers and a 780nm Infra-Red laser, FACSymphony A5 fitted with 5 lasers, CytoFLEX S, and FACSCalibur. The facility offers cell sorting on the latest technology from Beckman Coulter and Becton Dickinson, the high speed cell sorters MoFlo XDP, FACSAria III, and FACSMelody. All instruments are described on the facility website, see link below.
