COVID-19 update from the Royal Microscopical Society – 19 March 2020

Society continues to monitor and act on Government guidance to help keep members, delegates and staff safe

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to escalate, we wanted to let you know about the steps we are taking to ensure the health and safety of our members, delegates, speakers, exhibitors and members of staff.

In line with Government recommendations, members of RMS Staff are now working from home where possible and all meetings (including RMS Committee and Focused Interest Group meetings), and other events will take place ‘virtually’ until the end of May 2020.  Events due to take place after this date will be regularly reviewed and updates will be provided.

The RMS office is still operating as usual and we have a remote working system in place to allow us to continue to effectively service the needs of our members, delegates, speakers and exhibitors, whether that be by email, phone or via video/conference calls.

The RMS will continue to monitor and act on advice from the UK Government regarding precautions on COVID-19 and provide updates as and when the situation changes. We have therefore already announced the postponement to April 2021 of the EBSD Meeting which was due to have taken place in April 2020.

For any further questions, please contact any of the RMS Staff members, whose details can be found here
