EMAG themed issue of Journal of Microscopy is now available online
The September issue of the Journal of Microscopy has been published online and features papers from the 2019 conference of the Institute of Physics (IOP) Electron Microscopy and Analysis Group (EMAG).
The meeting was held as part of the RMS biennial conference series - Microscience Microscopy Congress.
The issue features an Introduction and Scientific Highlights from guest editors Professor Sarah Haigh (University of Manchester) and Dr Nick Clark (University of Manchester).
We are delighted to present the special issue of the Journal of Microscopy which showcases author contributions from the 2019 conference of the U.K.’s Institute of Physics (IOP) Electron Microscopy and Analysis Group (EMAG). It was held as part of the Royal Microscopical Society’s (RMS’s) biennial Microscience Microscopy Congress (MMC) meeting, with the RMS cleverly choosing Manchester’s one week of sunny weather to the hold the event. The 2019 EMAG conference attracted over 170 submitted abstracts and there were 1186 attendees at the MMC/EMAG conference. By combining with MMC, EMAG members were able to benefit from greater interdisciplinarity, a huge and vibrant trade exhibition with over 100 companies and world class additional training opportunities. However, we also enjoyed opportunities to interact as a community (preferably with dancing or laughing at others trying to dance). This special issue brings together 19 papers that demonstrate both the breadth and depth, as well as the diversity of the EMAG electron microscopy community.
Of the 19 papers in the issue, 10 are open access and free-to-view.
More information about the themed issue is available on the Journal of Microscopy website.
