Propose a candidate for Harald Rose Distinguished Lecture 2019

Awardee to deliver prestigious plenary talk at Microscopy Conference 2019 in Berlin


Candidates are being sought for a prestigious international honour bestowed by The German Society for Electron Microscopy.

The Harald Rose Distinguished Lecture, established to celebrate the work of the distinguished German physicist and RMS Hon Fellow, is awarded to one person for outstanding work, which is still pursued today, in the field of particle optics - preferentially the realm of electron microscopy. This includes work on image formation and/or energy filtering.

No limitation

Due to Rose's commitment to teaching, candidates who have developed new teaching concepts for topics in these fields will also be considered. There is no limitation concerning the scientific field (life science, physics, chemistry, materials science, instrumentation etc.) nor the age of the awardee. In general the work must be published.

The awardee receives a certificate, a financial award, and the honour of giving a Harald Rose Distinguished Lecture as a plenary talk. The ceremony will take place at the Microscopy Conference 2019 in Berlin, Germany, Sept. 1st- 5th, 2019

Proposals including appraisal of the achievement, reprints or preprints, and short CV including list of publications of the authors should be received (by e-mail or on CD) not later than Feb 28th, 2019, addressed to:
