Paper from Mats Gustafsson is published posthumously in the Journal of Microscopy
The January 2019 issue of the Journal of Microscopy contains a paper by Ingerman, London, Heintzmann and Gustafsson
The paper is titled “Signal, noise and resolution in linear and nonlinear structured‐illumination microscopy”. Mats Gustafsson sadly passed away in 2011, after the original version of the manuscript had been submitted. A few years later, one of Mats‘s colleagues, Rainer Heintzmann, graciously volunteered to help Eugene Ingerman and and Rich London revive the paper and finally get it published, 11 years after the original submission.
We are very grateful to Rainer for enabling this important paper to be published. It stands as a testament to Mats Gustafsson’s enormous contribution to microscope, more of which can be read at www.nature.com/articles/nmeth.1612.
