The lab-based dual-phase X-ray grating interferometry (DP-XGI) setup is optimised for tuneable dark-field imaging. The dark-field signal, historically considered a byproduct of phase contrast imaging in grating interferometry setups, is a consequence of small-angle scattering in a sample. Due to the tuneability of this setup without affecting the imagign geometry, a quantitative approach to interpreting this signal is possible via the projected autocorrelation function of the sample structure. However, there are still challenges to this spatially resolved SAXS imaging. In particular, the polychromatic nature of the source complicates the analysis. By using a hyperspectral detector, which bins detected photon interactions by their energy, an experimental viewpoint into these issues has been taken, including the successful measurement of the projected autocorrelation function of a test sample.
