EM-UKI

The Voice for the Electron Microscopy Community within the UK and Ireland

A network for the electron microscopy community in the UK and Ireland

The aim of this network is to bring together those who have an interest in electron microscopy for:

  • Knowledge Exchange: discussions around techniques, equipment, specimen preparation, science projects, lab management, funding
  • Collaboration and Commercialisation: target marketing of your facility for scientific collaboration or service provision
  • Training: opportunity to advertise meetings, courses, conferences and job openings to a target audience, along with career progression discussions
  • Strategic Discussions: potentially increase the efficiency of use of national/regional/local facilities, gauge community trends, provide a community voice

Who is this network for?

Anyone who has a professional interest in electron microscopy. This could include employees from the academic, industrial or manufacturing sectors, working primarily in life or physical sciences, at all levels from students to centre director.

How does it work?

The primary focus of this network is to increase communication between electron microscopists within the UK. To that end, a circulation list has been created for members to ask questions, post comments or notifications and engage in discussion on current hot topics.

There are also annual meetings held in the UK or Ireland, where more focused discussions on relevant topics of interest take place. These meetings are invaluable opportunities to meet and interact with other electron microscopists and build connections for future collaboration.
