Metrology Suitcase

Monitoring the performance of a light microscope over time is essential to ensure the repeatability of imaging experiments. For this purpose, QUAREP-LiMi and the Royal Microscopical Society are now able to offer facilities the possibility of borrowing, for a defined period, a ‘Metrology Suitcase’, which contains numerous tools for effectively checking several critical aspects of a microscope.

This initiative has also received significant support from the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft / German Research Foundation), which, through a grant awarded to QUAREP-LiMi this summer, has funded a substantial proportion of the contents of all five suitcases, alongside contributions from other sponsors.

The Metrology Suitcase is composed of various shared tools owned by QUAREP-LiMi and is intended for use by any European laboratory or core facility, under specific conditions. The tools contained in the suitcase were purchased at the initiative of the QUAREP-LiMi, and funded by Global BioImaging, the French Technological Network for Multidimensional Functional Microscopy (RTmfm) and the Royal Microscopical Society (RMS).

The Royal Microscopical Society are pleased to be able to have supported the purchase of QUAREP-LiMi.  Booking the suitcase can be done via https://quarep.org/resources/metrology-suitcase
