Crick Advanced Correlative Light and Electron Microscopy (CLEM) Course 2019
Crick Advanced Correlative Light and Electron Microscopy (CLEM) Course 2019
The hands-on CLEM course will cover three correlative workflows - 3D CLEM, Integrated Light and EM, and cryo CLEM - using a range of techniques and equipment including Near Infrared Branding, micro CT, Serial Block Face SEM, Focused Ion Beam SEM, high pressure freezing, in-resin fluorescence, ultraLM, integrated light and SEM (SECOM), plunge freezing and cryo-fluorescence. There will also be a CLEM image analysis tutorial session. There are limited places available on the CLEM course.
Course Information
There are 9 spaces on this course
Cost: £150
Venue: Francis Crick Institute, 1 Midland Road, London, NW1 1AT
Application process: CV and covering letter should be emailed to Raffa Carzaniga ([email protected]). The covering letter should include a statement of motivation for attending the course, how the workshop will impact your research, and whether you plan to train others in your home institute.
Deadline for applications: 30th April 2019.
Decision: 13th May 2019.
Course requirements:
Participants should have a working knowledge of the fundamentals of light and electron microscopy.
Participants should bring a laptop, and are encouraged to bring a correlative dataset in case there is time to troubleshoot individual cases.
Participants should not bring their own samples, demonstration specimens will be provided.
Accommodation: To be booked by applicants, we will provide a list of local hotels.
Subsistence: Coffee and lunch will be provided on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Dinner will be provided on Wednesday and Thursday.
Note: Priority will be given to applicants working at UK institutions, to fill a training gap, since the EMBO CLEM Course takes mainly international participants.
