BioImagingUK, in partnership with UKRI, is hosting an open consultation with the UK bioimaging community to gain feedback on plans for an infrastructure bid on Multimodal Imaging of Complex Organisms across Scales (current working title MIcroCOSm). This consultation will take the form of an online community workshop from 1 – 4pm BST on Friday 27th May 2022 to engage with stakeholders and build consensus on how best to shape the bid to maximise benefits for all.

This workshop is aimed at anyone interested in multiscale multimodal bioimaging spanning from in situ structural biology using cryo electron microscopy (EM), through to volume EM, light microscopy, X-ray microscopy and beyond, incorporating sample preparation, correlative workflows, big data handling, image analysis and AI approaches. This includes but is not limited to: current and prospective users (discovery research and clinical research), technologists, industry (users and technology developers), data specialists (analysis, handling, archiving); software engineers; and funding bodies. Please feel free to  pass this on to anyone who may be interested.

Our goal is to assemble a community-led proposal which details consensus on the vision and road map for providing multiscale multimodal bioimaging infrastructure to support research within the UK. This information will be used by UKRI to inform a funding process that respects the UK’s established principles and mechanisms.

To sign up for this workshop please register here. Registration closes on Thursday 26th May at 5pm. A detailed agenda and Zoom link will be sent to registered participants shortly before the workshop.

We look forward to seeing you on the 27th May.
