High-Performance Computing and cloud-based solutions for image analysis in life and physical sciences

The Data Analysis in Imaging (DAIM) RMS science section and international collaborators are launching a special issue of the Journal of Microscopy, with the topic: “High-Performance Computing and Cloud-based solutions for image analysis in life and physical sciences”.

The DAIM special issue can include invited manuscripts, original research articles, reviews, and methods & protocols.

The guest editors will meet all the colleagues working on HPC and Cloud Image Analysis who might be interested in contributing with manuscripts for this special issue, all together with two time zone meetings: East time - zone 2 pm AEST and 11 am EDT / 8am PDT on 15 October 2025.

During this initial meeting, the aim is to discuss the content of this special issue and register your interest. With this, the hope is to facilitate the creation of working groups to cover different topics in collaboration. Especially if you're interested in working on a collaborative article and/or a review, you are encouraged to attend or reach out.

This message will also be publicly posted on image.sc forum, as a post for discussion.

The deadline for manuscript submission is 28 February 2026.
