Dr Bhavik Barochia PhD, MBioSci, CBiol, FRMS, MRSB

Dr Bhavik Barochia is a microbial geneticist with a PhD in Biological Sciences and a track record of delivering national health and biosurveillance programmes. He specialises in the development of digital tools for the early detection of infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance and wider biosecurity threats. His work spans the UK and international markets, bringing together environmental science, laboratory innovation and health intelligence to inform policy and operational decision making. As a Senior Consultant in Arup’s Digital Water team, Bhavik leads projects at the intersection of molecular biology, analytics and data visualisation. He has established rapid COVID-19 testing laboratories, advised governments and global health technology organisations on market entry and growth, and developed digital platforms for biological data analysis and reporting. His expertise bridges technical delivery and commercial strategy, enabling organisations to translate complex biological data into practical action. Alongside his consulting work, Bhavik advises the Royal Life Saving Society Commonwealth and the Royal Life Saving Society UK on youth engagement and public health education. He represents these organisations in Parliament and across national media, supporting advocacy and drowning prevention initiatives in the UK and internationally.
