RMS Science Slam: 'Wow' the crowd with a quickfire science presentation!

Mastered the microscope? Now master the mic! The RMS Early Career Committee is looking for presenters for our Science Slam (Pre-selection round). This is your chance to simplify your science with a creative and entertaining presentation and wow the crowd!

The Challenge: A 10-minute Science Slam presentation, followed by an additional Q&A.

Submission Requirement: Submit a 250-300 word abstract to participate.

Abstract Submission Deadline: Thursday, 30 April 2026.

The Prize: The presenter conveying their research in the most engaging and creative way will win subsidised admission to IMC21, up to £200 for travel and accommodation, and represent the RMS in the IMC21 Science Slam, competing against participants from other microscopy societies worldwide.
