The electron Physical Science Imaging Centre (ePSIC) is a UK national user facility for aberration-corrected transmission electron microscopy, based at Diamond Light Source. To date, ePSIC has been funded by contributions from Diamond Light Source Ltd, the University of Oxford, Johnson Matthey Plc, and JEOL UK. To ensure a sustainable future for ePSIC, they are preparing a Statement of Need in Research Infrastructure to present to EPSRC, making the case for funding ePSIC’s operational costs. During this virtual town hall meeting, they will provide an overview of ePSIC’s contribution to UK science to date, share their plans for the future and invite attendees to provide feedback and ideas for new opportunities. They believe it is essential that ePSIC remains a community-driven facility supporting both the electron microscopy community and the broader UK scientific ecosystem. They welcome input from scientists across a diverse range of disciplines and career stages on how they can best support their research.
