Accommodation is not included in the registration fees.

As proud supporters of the Technician Commitment, the RMS continues to offer technical training subsidies to empower and support members of the technical community to take part in RMS training events.  If you are in a technician role working in higher education or research and would like to apply for a subsidy on the course registration fee, please complete the application form under the Technician Subsidy tab before registering for the course.  If you are awarded a subsidy you may be asked to write or contribute to a short report for infocus about your learning outcomes following the training.

By agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of booking you have agreed to abide by the Code of Conduct set out for all attendees at RMS Events. 

Attendee Information

Further information will be sent to you by email nearer the time of the course.  In an effort to be more sustainable and reduce the environmental impact of the course, the RMS will not be printing course programmes or lecture notes, but they will be made available to registered attendees prior to the start of the course.

Covid-19
Attending RMS Events
 
If you are due to attend an RMS event, and are testing positive for Covid-19 on the day of the meeting, we would recommend that you do not attend. Anyone who wishes to wear a face mask at RMS events is free and welcome to do so, and we will have some available at the welcome desk.

Meeting Waiver
When signing up for the event, you acknowledge that the Royal Microscopical Society are not liable for non-attendance due to travel disruptions, health problems or any other reason that might lead to an attendee not being able to attend the event.  You are strongly advised to ensure you have appropriate insurance.  Substitutions of attendees may, of course, be made subject to dietary requirements being available if at short notice, providing you inform us in writing. 

Course Venue
The Light Microscopy Summer School takes place within the Biology Department of the University of york.

Travelling to the Course

If you are flying to the UK, choose the Leeds-Bradford or Manchester airports. Trains from Leeds to York are frequent and approximately 25 minutes. Trains direct to York from Manchester Airport take approximately two hours.

York Railway Station is the closest train station. 

You can reach York by coach from many destinations around the country. National Express coaches stop at the railway station.

Meals
Lunches, tea / coffee and biscuits and 1 evening meal are included in your registration fee. Please note there is  no evening meal arranged for Tuesday evening.

Registration
Registration will be taking place at 09.00 (BST) on Monday morning at the University of York.
