What's in a kit?
The RMS Microscope Activity Kit contains enough equipment for six different activities for a class of children. Each table will have a microscope, worksheets and the resources needed.
We have included eight of each item and this should allow the teacher to have a set also. The camera supplied allows the activity to be demonstrated on the whiteboard if desired and to record the results of experiments. All the samples we have included are sealed in petri dishes to contain the samples and minimise mess.
An RMS Microscope Activity Kit incudes –
- 8 microscopes with built in, battery operated LED light source
- 1 digital eyepiece camera
- Resources for each activity as listed:
- Activity 1: a bag of small petri dishes, 20 droppers
- Activity 2: 8 coins, 16 hand lenses
- Activity 3: Samples of paper, packaging, poppy seeds, and insects
- Activity 4: cardboard slides and a pritt stick
- Activity 5: a bag of small petri dishes, red food colouring, sachets of coffee, hot chocolate, salt and sugar
- Activity 6: 32 reference samples, 16 clues, samples and cannisters of herbs, sugar, flour and sand, a pack of jelly babies
