I’ve been in Prince George my whole life and still found myself struggling to discover new places—especially when I wanted to support smaller businesses instead of just hitting the same chains all the time. It got worse during the pandemic when a bunch of places closed or moved and the info online didn’t keep up. I started a little side gig making candles and bath products, and even just getting people to know I exist was a whole thing. Setting up a big website didn’t make sense yet, so I added my info to this business directory bc. Didn’t expect much at first, but I’ve had a surprising number of customers say they found me there. What I like is how it feels actually made for people in BC—not just dumped together from everywhere. It has all the small service folks, the one-person operations, the local farms and such that usually get buried online. And when I’m trying to find something new—like a local garden centre or someone to fix a window—it’s super easy to search and doesn’t feel like I’m sorting through fake reviews or businesses that aren’t even in the area. It’s kinda nice having a go-to place where I don’t feel like I’m being upsold or misled. Feels like it was made by people who actually live here.
