Celebrating 40 Years of Atomic Force Microscopy
Registration and abstract submission is still open for a landmark symposium at Stanford University celebrating 40 years of Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM).
The event, taking place from 2 - 3 December, is dedicated to the memory of Cal Quate, who together with Gerd Binnig and Christoph Gerber invented the Atomic Force Microscope - a major watershed moment in the history of microscopy. Quate was a truly a prolific scientist who was made an Honorary Fellow of the RMS in 1984 for his work on acoustic microscopy.
