Virtual Career Surgery: Complete the survey

Early Career Committee seeks feedback ahead of training event

Early Career researchers are being encouraged to complete a survey to help plan a virtual training event.

The Virtual Career Surgery, which is likely to be held next year, is aimed at addressing common training needs within the Early Career community - including PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, technical staff or industry professionals at the start of their career.

Organisers are keen to guage demand for training in areas such as preparing CVs, grant applications, presentation skills, and more. They are hoping to receive as many survey responses as possible, in order to design the best possible event in terms of both format and content.

RMS Early Career Committee Chair Katherine Paine said: "We're aiming to run an event tailored to careers in microscopy which could also double up as a networking event. As a committee we have had discussions about what sort of activities would work well virtually, but we want to open this up and to give early career researchers the opportunity to tell us what they might want from us. We hope to hear from as many people as possible."

The survey takes just a few minutes to complete and the deadline for responses is 29th August.
