The theme of the workshop will be in a similar vein to previous events including knowledge transfer in the skills and different techniques of thin section preparation, the preparation of high quality, high integrity petrographic sections and surfaces for microscopic analysis,including sample cutting, epoxy resin impregnation both vacuum and pressure, grinding, lapping, bonding, resectioning and polishing for EBSD, EMP, TEM and SEM.

We envisage that the symposium will attract a diverse range of specialists with expertise in Earth & Environmental S ciences, Archaeology, and Civil Engineering from both educational institutions and the private sector.

A number of specialist equipment and consumables suppliers will also attend, present and exhibit.
